She offers three main types of assessments: 

Psycho-educational Assessments

This service is available to children, adolescents, and adults who wish to discover more about themselves and reasons they may have problems with schooling.  Having more information about one’s abilities and skills can assist in developing and aiding in school or post-secondary planning and training.  Here is an example...

This testing can examine:

  • Reasons for learning problems
  • Determine if someone has a Learning Disability or dyslexia
  • Determination of Learning Styles (e.g., visual learner, auditory learner, balanced learning style)
  • Determine eligibility for accommodations (e.g., oral reader, use of technology program)
  • Memory problems
  • Diagnose Developmental Disabilities
  • Provide information for the application for AISH
  • Diagnose Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Diagnose Autism
  • Diagnose depression, anxiety or behavioral disorders

This assessment includes:

  • An initial 30 minute meeting to discuss background information and goals for the testing
  • A one-on-one testing session
  • A written report with test results & answers to your questions
  • Recommendations or strategies to deal with the problem or issue
  • A meeting to discuss the results and recommendations

Mental Health Assessments

This type of assessment is available for all ages who wish to gain insight into their emotional or mental health.  This assessment also provides recommendations in how to deal with any issues or disorders.  Learning more about one’s mental health can assist in dealing with life’s stresses and provide a guide for treatment.  Here is an example...

Mental Health Assessments can examine:

  • Mood Disorders (e.g., depression, excessive moodiness, bi-polar)
  • Anxiety Disorders (e.g., excessive worry, feelings of panic, excessive fears or phobias, fear of going places, obsessive-compulsive disorder)
  • Personality Disorders
  • Behavioral Disorders (e.g., Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder)

This assessment includes:

  • an initial session to gather background information and for goal setting
  • one-on-one session/s to investigate the issue or concern
  • a written report detailing the findings
  • recommendations for treatment of the disorder or issue

Career Assessments

This type of assessment is available to adolescents or adults who wish to choose or change careers and need additional information to assist them on this journey.  It can help with career choices by determining:

  • Your skills and abilities and possible careers which suit them
  • Your personality type and possible career choices to match it
  • How your interests and how they match various careers
  • Your current emotional status and how career choices can impact it

This Assessment includes:

  • An initial 50 minute meeting to discuss background information and goals for the assessment
  • A one-on-one testing session (about half of a day)
  • A written report with results and career possibilities which best match your test results
  • A one-on-one discussion of the report and results

Additional career counselling sessions may be booked to further discuss issues or directions of career choices or changes.
